The Other Life Of Charlotte Evans by Louisa George Review

Wales, UK
Good afternoon all. How are we all feeling after the clocks going back this weekend? I think I’m more tired now than I was before. anywho, today we have a review of The Other Life Of Charlotte Evans by Louisa George. I was gifted this e-book for an honest review as part of Jenny’s book tour.

The Other Life Of Charlotte Evans

BLURB
Would you sacrifice your future to understand your past?
Life is rosy for dance studio owner Charlotte Evans, who is about to marry beloved fiancé, Ben. But when Ben finds a lump in Charlotte's breast, it sends her on a journey of self-discovery which she knows she must do alone. Because Charlotte is adopted, and she suddenly, desperately, needs to know who she is and where she comes from.

Finding and reconnecting with her birth family, the life Charlotte could have had unfolds before her. As her wedding day draws closer, and her past merges ever more into her present, Charlotte must decide on the future she really wants…

A heartrendingly beautiful novel about love, family and finding your own path to happiness.

COVER
I always have to mention the cover of books, because that’s what initially draws you in to picking a book up off the shelf. So I figured that it should have it’s own heading instead of just being put in with my review.

I love covers like this, simple covers intrigue me a lot more than one with complicated or busy designs. Plus its a vibrant blue colour which always draws my eye on a shelf, as it stands out much more amongst busier, darker designs.

REVIEW
First off I have to say that if your not into emotional reads then this isn’t the book for you because Louisa has written a heart warming story of self discovery which will have you reaching for the box of tissues.

The book starts off with Charlotte being perfectly happy with the way her life is, that is until something unexpected turns her life upside down and sends her down a new path. It shows just go quickly things can change and take you a different way in life.

The story centres on Charlottes family and relationships and how she starts to see herself in a different light. I love all the emotions Louisa brings to this book, you really cant help but empathise with Charlotte and everything she has going on. Louisa touches on the relationships between biological and adopted families and the insecurities that come with having both.

A truly heart warming story of ups and downs, beautifully written and explored by Louisa, a perfect cosy winter nights read.
