A little of Chantelle Rose by Cristina Hodgson Review

Wales, UK
I've had the opportunity to read and review A little of Chantelle Rose by Cristina Hodgson as a part of Jenny's Neverland Book Tour.

BLURB

At the age of twenty-four, Chantelle Rose has all a city girl can expect: a tiny bed-sit in South London, a lousy poorly-paid job, a tyrannical boss, and quite a few exes added to an ever-growing list.

Desperate for change, she becomes an extra in a seedy crime film. When that leads to the opportunity of a lifetime – a role to play with a million dollars to win and seemingly nothing to lose – she accepts without thinking twice. After all, what could possibly go wrong? In any event, she´ll earn enough to buy her dream home, set up her own business and never worry about money again.

And what about love? Two men have won her heart: Robbie – sultry, silent, mysterious; and Lionel – Hollywood heart-throb, charm, wealth, adventure.

But who can she trust? Who is bent on scaring her away, and why?

There seems to be more at stake than just her heart. Will a million dollars be worth it?

REVIEW

First off lets start by saying that I LOVED this book, it was a real fun loving, follow your heart chick-lit book and I really hope that Christina write a sequel.

Having said that there were a few things that I didn’t quite think made sense such as there is a line that says something like “He laid her down on the mattress on the floor then slipped her dress down to the floor” this might not sound as confusing to some of you but I couldn’t quite wrap my head around this one, and there were a couple more sentences similar that didn't make sense to me.

I don’t know if it’s just me and the fact that I’m pretty sure these things don’t actually happen to the average person but the whole Idea of how she got the job doesn’t quite seem real to me and I couldn’t really relate with that part of the book.

In all honesty I was a little sad at how the love story turned out, I was hoping it would go a slightly different way, because I predicted the ending about a third of the way into the book, which was a little bit of a let down because I like to be surprised.

Having said these things I did really love the book, and I found each chapter had me wanting to read a little bit more, not quite enough to having my staying up until 2am reading but still had me wanting to read more every day. I think this book would make a great summer holiday read and you could probably easily finish it in a day lounging by the pool.

The fact that the book is left on a little bit of a cliffhanger gives me hope that Cristina will write a sequel for the book as I would love to know what happens to Chantelle.
