A heart-warming novel with characters you’ll love, don’t miss this first in a new series for romance, laugh-out-loud comedy and a feel-good ending. Perfect for fans of Mhairi McFarlane and Lindsey Kelk.

ABOUT THE BOOK

I was seven years old when I realized my mother was not a great person…

Since Savvy was abandoned by her rockstar mother, she has craved a normal life. But after years of financing her boyfriend’s lacklustre career, he leaves her when he hits the bigtime.

Savvy’s friends at the burlesque club where she serves elaborate cocktails encourage her to make bold changes in her life. She soon meets handsome bartender Milo, and begins to plan a future she can be excited about. But when Savvy’s estranged mother crashes back into her life, her newfound happiness is under threat… will Savvy have the courage to pursue her dreams?

REVIEW

Cocktails and Dreams is the first book in the Martini Club series by A.L. Michael, this isn't the first book I have read by A.L. Michael so I had high hopes when I was offered a space on this book tour.

Cocktails and Dreams is the story os Savvy, who is the daughter of a rockstar and spends her life being second best to her mother's music career. You find out quite early on in the book that Savvy gets left with her Aunt Jen while her mother goes off to pursue her career.

Savvy then spends most of her life settling, she settled for the guy who took her for granted and used her to further himself and it's not until he thinks he's too good for her does she finally get the push she needs to focus on herself and to finally discover who she is.

Her mother comes back into the book and I love how Savvy deals with the whole situation, their relationship is full of ups and downs and plenty of feelings on both sides.

This book was throughly enjoyable, funny and heartwarming through out. Definitely a good summer read and I can't wait to see where Savvy's story goes next.
